Obituary For Dennis Edward Pennington
Brother Dennis first joined the Knights in March of 1984 and was elevated to the Fourth Degree in 1988. He was an honorary life member of Council 6478.
Dennis Edward Pennington, age 76, of Mustang, passed away on October 14, 2024. He was born on October 26, 1947, in Middletown, Ohio, to Collie and Hazel (Hummel) Pennington.
After high school, Dennis joined the US Navy and went to Vietnam on two tours. Following his military service, he graduated from Central State University as a speech pathologist. He later earned two master’s degrees: one from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the other from Central State University. He taught speech pathology for 20 years before becoming a principal in 1992. He retired from teaching and education to become a grant writer for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority until he retired in 2009.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine Pennington; son, Ross Pennington and wife Kayla; grandchildren, Ronan Pennington, Ainslie Pennington, and Arabel Pennington; sister in law, Helen McBennett; niece, Dr. Heather Male; as well as many other nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.
