Jacob Andrew Meier, 27, of Norman, Okla., died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009.

He was born July 21, 1982, in Garden City, to Richard and Sandy Meier. He moved to Yukon, Okla., in 1994, graduated from Yukon High School in 2001, earned a bachelor's degree in health and exercise science from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 and graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2008 with a master's degree in sports administration. Mr. Meier's interests were University of Oklahoma football, basketball and softball, watching movies and cooking for his roommates. He was a charter member of the Yukon Knights of Columbus Squires and Toxic Cheerleader softball team, a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Norman, a former member of the Yukon High School cross country team, was involved in the National Catholic Youth Conference and was an Our Lady of Guadalupe camp counselor.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Richard and Cathy Meier of Yukon; his mother, Sandy Meier of Yukon; three brothers, A.J. Meier of Duncan, Okla., Seth Meier of Norman, and Rich Meier Jr. of Lawrence; and a sister, Sarah Meier of Yukon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosa Ella Yardley and Ben and Mae Meier.
