An athletic event for youth that encourages the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is open to boys and girls from the age of 9 to 14. They will compete against others of the same age, and there will be awards for boys and girls in each age group. Champions from each gender and age group will have the opportunity to compete in District, and State level events.
The Council competition is 15 consecutive shots on an unmanned regulation size goal from a distance similar to a penalty kick, but adjusted for age range. Each corner has point values with the upper corners being 20 points, the lower corners being 10 points and the middle area 5 points. The District and State competitions are 25 consecutive shots with the same conditions. Winners of the District competition will be invited to the State Championship in November.
