Obituary For Leroy L. Hubl

LeRoy Lawrence Hubl, age 78 of Highland Village, TX passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home. LeRoy was born August 10, 1936 in Adams County, Nebraska to Albert and Caroline Mazour Hubl. After traveling in their motorhome for several years, they settled in Chandler, Texas until March of 2014 when they moved to Highland Village, TX to be nearer the children. He was a life-time member of the Catholic Church, Catholic Knights of Columbus (4th degree), VFW, Good Sam Travel Club; and a member of the Moose Lodge for over 25 years. We are sad to share that our Brother Knight, Dr. Paul Deganaer, passed away on June 23 after a brief illness.Paul joined the Knights of Columbus Council 6478 just a few years ago. While he lived and operated a medical practice in Dallas, he was looking forward to greater involvement with the council upon his planned retirement and relocation to Yukon.A service will be held for Paul on Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 AM in Assumption Chapel at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, followed by a family service and burial in his home state of Michigan. We offer our prayers and deepest sympathy to his family and friends, and we will miss having the opportunity to serve others and grow spiritually side-by-side with Paul. May he be welcomed into the light of God's face for eternity, and may the souls of all the faithful departed be pardoned of their sins and find eternal rest. ... See MoreSee Less

While serving as an usher at Mass one Sunday, Brother Knight Al Slattery learned of another Knight who needed some masonry repairs done on his front porch. An experienced mason himself who worked on several OKC-area Catholic churches during his career - including SJN's Discipleship Center and the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine - Al offered to repair it. He wanted to make the repair as a friendly gesture, but when his Brother Knight insisted on paying, they decided to meet in the middle, and Al agreed to do the work in exchange for a monetary donation to the Knights of Columbus. We appreciate you very much, Al, and thank you for your generosity and willingness to serve! ...
