Obituary For Leroy L. Hubl

LeRoy Lawrence Hubl, age 78 of Highland Village, TX passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home. LeRoy was born August 10, 1936 in Adams County, Nebraska to Albert and Caroline Mazour Hubl. He grew up in the farmland of Nebraska and loved exploring, hunting, fishing and doing whatever the brothers and cousins could find to do. He worked on the farm until joining the National Guard and to active duty in the Army. In 1959 he met the girl of his dreams. They later moved to Oklahoma City, where he was injured at work, and retired on disability in 1984. After traveling in their motorhome for several years, they settled in Chandler, Texas until March of 2014 when they moved to Highland Village, TX to be nearer the children. He was a life-time member of the Catholic Church, Catholic Knights of Columbus (4th degree), VFW, Good Sam Travel Club; and a member of the Moose Lodge for over 25 years. LeRoy is survived by his wife, of 54 years, MaryAnn McCain Hubl; son Jerome Hubl and wife, Melinda of Murchison, TX; daughters Teresa Hubl Lewis and husband, John of Oklahoma City, OK and Patricia Hubl Hoyt and husband, John of Highland Village, TX and Leonardo Alcantar and wife, Martha of Edmond, OK, an exchange student who came back after finishing his education to join in the Hubl household; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brothers Archie Hubl and wife, Ruth of Hastings, NE and David Hubl and wife, Elizabeth of Norman, OK in addition to several nieces, nephews and many friends around the world. Meet Melissa, from just up the road in Chandler, Oklahoma and a parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church there. At just 36 years old, she was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. The diagnosis came as she and her husband were already expecting their third child. She refused to get an abortion and sought care that would not harm her baby at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. The financial cost of doing so, however, is understandably significant. If you are so moved, please visit this GoFundMe page and help this young family get past their financial burdens from protecting the life of their child, due to arrive, God willing, in February. Whether you are able to donate or not, please share this page so others might be able to help donate or spread the word! ... See MoreSee Less
